The 900 series are some of the better flying scale models in the Guillow's line-up!  Rubber powered models with minimal parts and simple construction.  Built light, they are great fliers with ample wing areas.  These kits contain quality die-cut balsa wood, plastic nose cowls, canopies and water-slide decals.

The Bird Dog has a great reputation as a flying model.  There are lots of scale subjects which can be modeled, from air ambulance all the way to light attack aircraft!

Due to the die-cut parts, we recommend these for more experienced builders, but a beginner can succeed with patience.  For flying, we suggest you upgrade your model with one of our 6" or 7" propsSuper Sport rubber and our Asuka 'Flying Bird' tissue.

For now, we will carry the entire 900 series line.  The models with the best potential to fly well include the Bird Dog, Chipmunk, Skyraider and Trojan.  If the model you want is out of stock, just contact us and we will get it for you!

*** Originally designated the L-19, the Bird Dog went into production in 1956 and was used during the Korean campaign as a liaison airplane to spot enemy troop concentrations, direct ground operations, carry ammunition, and to evacuate wounded soldiers.  When it returned to production in 1962, designated the O-1E, the Bird Dog gained fame as an “FAC” airplane (forward air control) in South Vietnam where it was very effective in spotting and directing fire against enemy forces.
