The 500 series are the most popular kits in the Guillow's line-up!  These easy-building kits contain laser cut balsa parts, plastic cowls and canopies, decals, plastic prop, wheels, tissue and a 24-page model building booklet.  Approximately 1/30 scale, each model has a 16½” wingspan.

The Hurricane has great proportions for a flying model.

Any of the 500 series are a great way to get started in building smaller rubber-powered scale model airplanes.  For those wanting to fly, we suggest you upgrade your model with one of our small (4.75" or 6") propsSuper Sport rubber and our Asuka 'Flying Bird' tissue.

For now, we will carry the entire 500 series line.  The models with the best potential to fly well include the Focke-Wulf FW-190, Messerschmitt BF-109, F6F Hellcat, Hawker Hurricane and A6M2-N Rufe.  If the model you want is out of stock, just contact us and we will get it for you!

*** During the famous Battle of Britain, more than three-fifths of the R.A.F. Fighter Command squadrons used Hawker Hurricanes.  This immortal partner of the Supermarine Spitfire destroyed the German bombers while the Spitfires engaged the Messerschmitt Bf-109’s.  The Hurricane was the first combat aircraft capable of exceeding 300 MPH, and it became the most versatile single-seat warplane to emerge from World War II.  This plane was used in the Western Desert conflict as a fighter-bomber and a modified version, called the Sea Hurricane, became the first single-seat fighter to serve with the Fleet Air Arm.
