Guillow's 500 Series TBF Avenger

The 500 series are the most popular kits in the Guillow's line-up!  These easy-building kits contain laser cut balsa parts, plastic cowls and canopies, decals, plastic prop, wheels, tissue and a 24-page model building booklet.  Approximately 1/30 scale, each model has a 16½” wingspan.

Any of the 500 series are a great way to get started in building smaller rubber-powered scale model airplanes.  For those wanting to fly, we suggest you upgrade your model with one of our small (4.75" or 6") props, Super Sport rubber and our Asuka 'Flying Bird' tissue.

For now, we will carry the entire 500 series line.  The models with the best potential to fly well include the Focke-Wulf FW-190, Messerschmitt BF-109, F6F Hellcat, Hawker Hurricane and A6M2-N Rufe.  If the model you want is out of stock, just contact us and we will get it for you!

*** The Grumman TBF "Avenger" initial production order for 286 planes was placed in the latter part of 1940 and, between 1942 and the end of the 1943, over 2,000 Avengers were built and delivered to the U.S. Navy.  It became the Navy standard torpedo-bomber of World War II and first saw action on June 4, 1942 at the historic Battle of Midway.  Used right up to 1954, Avenger also saw service with the Royal Navy, Canadian Royal Navy and the French Aeronavale.
